Wonder Woman: Bloodlines is the just the second Wonder Woman direct-to-video animated
film in the DC Universe Animated Original Movies franchise – coming 10 years
after 2009’s Wonder Woman – and the very
first solo Wonder Woman film set in the DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU). It explores the origins of Wonder Woman a.k.a.
Princess Diana of Themyscira in the DCAMU, and then tells an adventure presumably
set in the present time of DCAMU continuity that pits her against Villainy Inc,
paving the way for her to go back to Themyscira for the first time since she left it.

'Professor Marston and the Wonder Women' Reveals Wonder Woman's Scandalous Origin
Wonder Woman was one of the most notable films of 2017. However, what many don’t know is there was
another “Wonder Woman” film released last year – a biopic about William Moulton
Marston, the creator of Wonder Woman. Titled
Professor Marston and the Wonder Women,
it stars Luke Evans as Prof. Marston and details the bizarre relationship he
had with his wife Elizabeth Holloway Marston (played by Rebecca Hall) and their
mistress Olive Byrne (played by Bella Heathcote), who were significantly instrumental
in helping him invent the first lie detector as well as the creation of Wonder
Woman.

DCEU Scores Its First Real Win with 'Wonder Woman'
At its fourth try, the DC Extended
Universe has finally had a movie receiving universal acclaim. And there’s something exhilarating and amusing about
the fact that it was accomplished through the solo movie of, arguably, the
least iconic of DC’s “Trinity.” In this
sense, it can be said Wonder Woman bested Batman and Superman!
Kudos to DC/Warner Bros. They managed to release a Wonder Woman movie first before Marvel
could release a Captain Marvel movie
(which I thought would happen first since Marvel made an announcement first, and with all the lack of vision going on with DC/WB
during that time). Getting the first
major-comicbook-movie-with-a-female-superhero-as-lead out ahead of their rivals
is a good win for them. In addition, it even turned out being the best DCEU movie so far (Suicide Squad is a far second).
